Crosswalks in Cutler Bay and other South Florida communities are intended to designate clear areas for pedestrians to safely cross the street and to help drivers identify where pedestrians may be crossing. Despite this, however, intersection accidents and pedestrian accidents in Cutler Bay and other communities continue to happen.

Children are unfortunately especially at risk of pedestrian accidents. They may walk to school, for example, and may be less visible to drivers because they are smaller. Kids can also forget about the rules of road safety when they’re excited about getting somewhere and may accidentally dart into the street.

Broadside or side collisions happen when a vehicle impacts the side of a car, often at an intersection. The distinctive T shape of the two cars is what gives this crash its name. These accidents most often happen when someone fails to yield right of way or when someone drives through a red light or stop sign.

These collisions can cause a range of symptoms and injuries, including whiplash, fractures, facial injuries, head trauma, spinal cord injuries, and even fatalities. In many cases, they are caused by inattention on the part of a driver who smashes in to the car in front of them. If someone does not leave enough space for the car in front of them, a rear end collision can easily happen.

A study from the Governors Highway Safety Association has found that fatalities for pedestrian accidents in 2018 increased. In fact, 2018 will be the most deadly year for pedestrian injuries since the 1990s.

In Homestead and other communities, intersection accidents cause severe injuries each year. Unfortunately, intersections are a higher-risk area because cars are approaching from different directions and making turns. In addition, many road users, including pedestrians, converge in this area and in some cases visibility can be obscured by buildings, making collisions a real problem.

Rear-end collisions in Hollywood and Homestead are sometimes called rear-end shunt accidents. These crashes occur anywhere in Florida and across the country and in many cases are completely preventable. If you have been injured, you will want to ensure you have the compensation you need to replace lost income, pay for medical bills, and take care of yourself financially.

In most cases, these crashes occur because a driver behind the impacted car was negligent. Common causes of rear-end shunt collisions include distracted, sleepy, or drunk driving. When a motorist is not alert, he or she can fail to notice when the car in front of them has stopped, and this can cause them to crash into the car in front of them. Tailgating or failing to leave enough room in bad weather can also lead to collisions, as can poor road design or poor road repair. In these cases, if you have been injured in a rear-end shunt collision, you may be able to seek compensation for your injuries and losses.

I had a lawyer on another case and I never spoke to the lawyer and I hated that I never knew what was going on in my case. Mr. Flaxman was in constant communication with me, explained everything to me, and his staff was really great too. My phone calls were always returned immediately. It was refreshing to be able to speak to my attorney personally. I would HIGHLY recommend Mr. Flaxman as an attorney to anyone who has been in an accident. Gloria
